Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026
This policy explains what personal information PɛDan collects, why, who can see it, and your rights under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). PɛDan is a product of Solvix Technology Limited, which is responsible for your information (the data controller).
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name (as on your Ghana Card), email address, phone number and password.
- Identity checks: photos of your Ghana Card, a selfie and short head-turn photos, for landlords, scouts, and tenants who reserve a house.
- For landlords: house details, photos, exact address and map pin, documents showing you can rent the house, and where to send payouts.
- For scouts: the areas you cover, the landlords who signed up with your code, and where to send payouts.
- Messages between tenants and landlords about a house, so we can help if something goes wrong.
- Payments: interest fees, reservations, rent, refunds and payouts. Card and Mobile Money details are handled by our payment provider, Paystack; we never see your card number or PIN.
- Messages and reports you send us, such as disputes.
2. Why we use it
- To confirm that landlords, scouts and tenants are who they say they are.
- To let tenants and landlords talk and agree visits, take payments, hold rent and pay landlords, scouts and referrers.
- To settle refunds and disputes, and to prevent fraud.
- To send you notifications and emails about your bookings and account.
3. Who can see it
- Ghana Card images and selfies: only PɛDan admins doing identity checks. Never landlords, tenants or scouts.
- A house's exact address: the landlord, PɛDan, and tenants who pay to show interest in it.
- Your phone number: the landlord once you have reserved their house; the tenant once they have reserved. Until then, phone numbers in chat messages are hidden.
- Service providers who help us run PɛDan (hosting, payments, email), only for that purpose.
- Messages you write to the chat assistant (not your name or account) are sent to an AI service so it can answer. Some free AI services may keep what is sent, so don't type personal details in the chat.
- The authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account and payment records for as long as the law requires for financial records. We are setting a retention period for Ghana Card images and selfies with our lawyers; this policy will state it before PɛDan opens to the public.
5. Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account yourself, any time, from your account page (in the app or on the website), once nothing is still active (a reservation, a rental before move-in, an open problem report or a payout to you). Your name, contact details and identity documents are removed; records of payments and stamped agreements are kept without your name, as the law requires.
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
To make a request, reply to any PɛDan email or use “Report a problem” in the app.
6. Security
Identity documents are stored privately and shown to admins only through short-lived links. Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it, and admin access to identity documents is logged.
